About

I coach on Fridays and the occasional evening, offering a mix of in person walk and talk, telephone and online sessions.

Anyone looking to work on their wellbeing can benefit from coaching however I do have some particular interests:

  • Tired helpers who want to rediscover joy
  • Folk adjusting to life after a cancer diagnosis

I am also passionate about getting outdoors to benefit from fresh air, movement and views of the natural world

Helpers – who and why?

A helper could be a therapist, social worker, teacher, volunteer, pastoral lead – anyone whose job is being of service to others. For over ten years I’ve worked with and met helpers who give so much of themselves that they become tired and questioning. It can really challenge self perception and be a sticky place. Helping should not be to the detriment of ourselves. We can help and have boundaries, for example. I find fulfilment in being alongside helpers who recognise their tiredness, are keen to explore new ways of thinking and enact change.

Cancer – why?

I have lived experience of cancer treatment and diagnosis. The experience changed my perspective on what truly matters and brought about a focus on simplicity and joy. I am inspired by the work of the Fountain Centre in Surrey; a cancer centre that offers people both counselling and coaching as they move forward after their diagnosis.

Education / training

I have formal qualifications in counselling (2012), counselling supervision (2017) and coaching (2023) – all at level 5 or above.

Working life

I’ve worked in the mental health and wellbeing field since qualifying as a counsellor in 2012.  I’ve done direct (therapy and support) work with children, young people and adults within the third sector, education and in private practice.

Since 2017 I have had a leadership role within a children’s mental health charity and more recently, have become an internal coach for the same organisation.

Life outside of work

I love music, reading, running, getting outdoors, hiking, eating good food with friends, cricket and early nights.
